Our company is structured across 2 divisions – the Display Case Division, located in North Prairie, WI, Waukesha, WI, and Mukwonago, WI and the Refrigeration Systems Division, located in Ramsey, MN and Dyersville, IA.

What Will You Do?

Under the direction of the Controller, the Accounting Manager oversees the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) departments. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing direct reports as well as managing the key functions of the accounting department. The key responsibilities of the Accounting Manager are, but not limited to:

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries to general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions. Examples include payroll entries, A/P and A/R accruals, commission, and company credit cards transactions.
  • Complete the monthly bank reconciliation and assigned balance sheet reconciliations. Model Cash flow analysis making recommendations on discounts to customers and vendors.
  • Organize and delegates workloads as appropriate across both functions.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow between the accounting clerical personnel.
  • Escalates and advocates for the team cross-functionally and outside Zero Zone.
  • Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Responds and administers sales and use tax audits as required.
  • Drive compliance in sales tax exemption certificates and annual updates.
  • Ownership of the annual budget process. Complies data and leads department managers.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring, onboarding, training, planning, assigning, directing workflow, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, and addressing and resolving complaints in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance field and/or 7+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment to include financial statement preparation, accounting principles, practices, procedures, and supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).
  • Previous ERP knowledge is preferred.

 

SKILLS/ABILITIES/SPECIFICATIONS

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, margins, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and area.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

 

PHYSICAL & BEHAVIORAL:

  • Regular use of hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
