What Will You Do?

Under the direction of the Electrical Engineering Manager, the Electrical Engineering CAD Designer will play an integral role in maintaining and improving electrical components throughout the production process. The Electrical Engineering CAD Designer will be responsible for creating drawings and diagrams using common engineering software programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create refrigeration case wiring diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
  • Create assembly drawings using SolidWorks
  • Create Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Manage CAD files using SolidWorks PDM system
  • Learn and use a variety of IFS10 ERP software.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

  • Associate degree Electrical Engineering Technology or related field and/or 3-7 years of experience in Electrical Design
  • Intermediate – advanced understanding of SolidWorks 2020 (or newer)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Visio, Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Understand basic electrical schematics and ladder diagrams

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Understanding of fundamental electrical concepts (ie. the differences between a watt, a volt, alternating current, direct current, and an ohm.)
  • Software certifications in CAD, SolidWorks, and/or Visio (preferred, but not required)
  • Familiar with electro-mechanical devices including relays, contactors, circuit breakers, and terminal blocks
  • Working familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and hand tools
  • Ability to communicate in oral and/or written Spanish (preferred, but not required)
  • Ability to comfortably communicate with coworkers in-person, by phone, by e-mail, and online

PHYSICAL & BEHAVIORAL:

  • Zero Zone expects all employees to behave and communicate in a manner which will facilitate good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors, maintaining a positive work atmosphere
  • Regularly required to stand or walk; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds usually from the floor to waist level, up to 20 feet away
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, usually from the floor to waist level, up to 20 feet away
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires the use of safety glasses and steel-toed safety shoes while in production areas.
