Zero Zone is a manufacturer of reach-in and open refrigerated and frozen food display cases as well as the refrigeration systems that work behind the scenes to cool the cases, keeping the food fresh! We also make powerful industrial refrigeration systems for food warehousing, pharmaceuticals, and even ice rinks!

Our company is structured across 2 divisions – the Display Case Division, located in North Prairie, WI, Waukesha, WI, and Mukwonago, WI and the Refrigeration Systems Division, located in Ramsey, MN and Dyersville, IA.

What Will You Do?

Under the direction of the Receiving Manager, the Material Handler receives incoming shipments from suppliers and puts away materials in designated locations. This position will also monitor inventory levels and restock production lines using a first in first out methodology; consolidate SKUs to best utilize space; and cross train and back up co-workers as requested. This job description lists major areas of responsibility and additional job activities may be added at any time.

  • Receives in and puts away incoming materials from suppliers following current procedures and practices and complying with a first in/first out (FIFO) methodology.
  • Consolidates same SKUs into locations to best utilize space without jeopardizing safety and quality.
  • Replenishes production lines and point-of-use storage locations.
  • Safely operates a variety of material handling equipment.
  • Assists in department improvement initiatives.
  • Exercises judgment in the planning and sequence of operation.
  • Follows all clean up, maintenance, housekeeping, and safety procedures.

What Are We Looking For?

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of you for this position:

  • High school diploma required (or equivalent) and additionally 1 to 3 years of experience in warehouse practices and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift certification preferred and must be knowledgeable about use of other warehouse equipment.
  • Must have a moderate level of computer experience to access computer programs.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and add and subtract whole numbers.
  • Comprehension of simple TR instructions, both oral and written, pertaining to customer orders.
  • Effectively communicate one on one and in group settings with other employees within the organization.
  • Applies common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and follow established company procedures.

  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, usually from the floor to waist level, up to 20 feet away
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Requires the use of safety glasses and steel-toed safety shoes
